How old must vehicle be before I can Import it Legally?

15 year old vehicles are eligible for import into Canada. Currently we can import up to 1995 to the month. Example, A vehicle made December 1995 is eligible to arrive in Canada no earlier than Dec 2010.

25 year old vehicles are eligible for import into the USA by comparison.
We have it good as the US is trying to support the “Big Three” auto makers who make all the Gas Guzzling automobiles that cause the majority of green house gasses.

The Canadian government is very strict on this and can dismantle a vehicle that doesn't meet these requirements.

There has been talk that these import Laws may change due to the opinion of one or two Inspectors but until then, we are allowed to import these excellent condition older vehicles.
Take advantage now before the laws change.
